These past few weeks have been really trying. Between the incompetence of this administration in regards to their response to this pandemic and personal issues I felt like my life was spiraling out of control. So how did I regain control?
If you don’t like the situation you are in, change it. You are in control of your own life. – Anonymous
- I cried my little heart out. This seems to be a reoccurring theme but when I cry I’m finally facing my emotions head on and letting them out instead of holding everything in. Don’t be afraid to cry. It’s very therapeutic. Sometimes you just need to really feel what you feel.
- Since I was feeling lonely I’ve utilized video chatting with friends and family. I’m social distancing alone and even though I grew up an only child sometimes I do get tired of myself believe it or not. You can even schedule an official Netflix Party and watch Tiger King or Uncorked.
- I began to do things that brought me joy as a child. That would include reading and writing. I plan to start drawing again too. I have an easel I haven’t set up as well but I need canvases and paint. I really wish I could’ve kept up my piano lessons but hopefully after all of this is over I can start back up.
- I re-established my relationship with the Lord. I’ve never been too religious but I do believe there’s a higher being out there and he’s shaking shit up to get our attention. I think we’ve all been living a little too reckless and this is a universal wake up call. Prayer and meditation help me center myself.
